DAVID Q. HOUBECK is an Associate Attorney with Vandeveer Garzia, P.C. He focuses his practice in the area of Business Litigation and other complex civil matters, including auto negligence, employment law, construction litigation, municipal law, general negligence, premises liability, and appellate practice. He joined the firm in November of 2012 as a law clerk before accepting an Associate Attorney position in May of 2013.
In 2009, David received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Michigan-Flint. David received his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2013, where he graduated cum laude. During law school, he was a Managing Associate Editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review, and his article analyzing the Open and Obvious Danger Doctrine was published in the law review’s Online Edition. He was awarded the John D. Voelker Award for his contribution to the publication of the law review. David was also a member of the National Moot Court Competition Team. He competed in the National Veterans’ Law Moot Court Competition in Washington D.C. and the National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition in Seattle, Washington.
David is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Genesee County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the Michigan state courts and the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Michigan and the Western District of Michigan.
